We offer a peaceful, natural camping area behind the Chan Center, accessible by walking through our back lot or via Old Saint Augustine Road. Campers are fully supported with 3 meals a day, access to bathrooms and showers, and a beautiful outdoor setting with Florida’s signature Live Oak trees and Spanish moss.

🌱 Camping Guidelines
Tent Size: We recommend a 3–4 person tent to give you space to sleep, sit, and organize personal items. Weather-Ready Setup:

Make sure your tent is rainproof

Use a ground tarp or pad underneath

Air out your tent regularly — Florida is humid!

Sleep Comfortably: A sleeping pad, cot, or lightweight mattress helps you rest and recover. Helpful Gear:

Headlamp or flashlight

Slip-on shoes

Bug spray

Layers for warmth or sun protection

🚿 Bathrooms & Showers
Campers have access to bathrooms in both the main Chan Center and dorms. Shared shower times will be scheduled — you’ll sign up for a slot in the appropriate dorm before the retreat.

🐜 Safety & Nature Awareness
The field is part of a natural ecosystem. Please be mindful of:

If you are staying off-site (in a hotel, shared room, or a home in Tallahassee), you may register as a commuter. As a commuter, you must have reliable transportation and be able to arrive on time each morning and stay through the end of the day’s schedule. This option is intended for those who are local or have arranged nearby housing independently. Commuters will receive 3 vegetarian meals per day and are fully integrated into the retreat schedule and group. Please plan to attend the entire retreat, including early mornings and evening sessions.
